High Roller Pop Quiz

14 May

So, you’re a High Roller, eh? Well, let’s see just how much you know about rollin’ big with How Do You Roll?

Question 1: True or False- Your High Roller card doubles as a gift card/stored credit card.
Answer: True! You can load money yourself online when you are logged in to your loyalty home page or you can add money at your nearest How Do You Roll? location.

Question 2: How many rolls do you have to purchase before earning your free roll?
Answer: After purchasing 10 rolls, your 11th will be free! If you’re tracking your “points” on our loyalty website, you’ll notice that each roll is 10 points. After you’ve earned and redeemed your free roll (so 110 points), your points tracker will reset to 0.

Question 3: If you’ve forgotten your card while at the restaurant, can you still earn credit for your rolls?
Answer: YES! You’ll need to fill out the form through our loyalty website. You can find the link to it on the right side in the box titled, “Need points added?”  Once you’ve made it to the form, you’ll need to fill out your name, e-mail address (make sure to enter this correctly, as we’ll contact you via e-mail if we need to follow-up with you), card number, location visited, receipt number (located under the time and are 5 numbers long such as 10001), and number of rolls purchased. Remember that only rolls purchased at full price count towards points!

Question 4: True or False- Your points are added automatically after you submit the form.
Answer: Unfortunately, this one is false. We wish it could be automatic, but our system is not set up to process and verify requests. We manually do this and thank you for your patience as it averages 3 to 5 business days to complete this.

Question 5: How do you move up to Honor and Rockin’ Roller status?
Answer: Once you’ve purchased 50 rolls at the High Roller level and redeemed the 5 free rolls earned from those 50 purchased, you have made the Honor Roll! We monitor your points and will mail out your card once we see that you’ve achieved this. To become a Rockin’ Roller, you’ll need to repeat the process at the Honor Roller level.

So, how did you do? Don’t worry if you missed a few- these are actually some of our frequently asked questions! We hope you now know a bit more about your High Roller card. If you have any unanswered questions, feel free to e-mail us at loyalty@howdoyouroll.com!

As always, thanks for rollin’ with us!

A Dream Vacation

30 Apr

Remember this guy?

Derek won the How Do You Roll? California Dreamin’ competition and recently took his much earned vacation. Below, he shares his trip with us– and boy, do we wish we could have tagged along! Sounds like a dream :)

Our holiday to California was splendid with beautifully warm weather and plenty to see and do!  Our short and pleasant flight saw us to Los Angeles on Monday, 9 April by 10:30 am.  We hurried to the rental car lot where we picked up a beautiful, brand new silver VW Passat to cruise around LA in style!  From there, it was a bee-line to Disneyland!  Werner was impressed with the perfection of everything at Disney.  The shrubs were perfectly trimmed, and the grounds were immaculate.  Lines were pretty long, but we still managed to have a nice time in the Magic Kingdom and the closely-adjoined California Adventure theme park.  The only thing they seemed to be missing was a How Do You Roll?!  We had drinks at the Living Room Bar at the posh W Hotel Hollywood (where we stayed) and dinner that evening at Universal City Walk at the delicious Wolfgang Puck Bistro.

Tuesday included lots of sight-seeing starting with a drive down the Highway 1 to Malibu, a quick stop at Venice Beach for some souvenir shopping and the usual stops on Hollywood Blvd to see the Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and a bit of shopping.  After cleaning up back at the hotel, we then hopped in a taxi later that evening to attend IRIS by Cirque du Soleil in the Kodak Theatre.  The premise of the show is a journey through the history of film which seemed duly appropriate given that the venue is the same one that has been used for the Oscars ceremonies.  Our seats were unbeatable, and the performance was mesmerizing.

The last day, we made our way as close to the Hollywood sign as possible, stopped by Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive and also spent a couple of hours at the Citadel Outlet Mall shopping for bargains!  Overall, it was a great and memorable trip!!  Just remember, when you wish upon a star (and stalk your more than 700 Facebook friends to like your posted wall photo), you just might see your California Dream come true as well!!  Thanks How Do You Roll!!

Anna Lives Better

26 Apr

We want to encourage you to chase your dreams and accomplish your goals. That’s why we’ve started our new campaign, “Better You By You,” meant to inspire and empower you. Our first story comes from Anna, a young swim coach from Austin, Texas. Full of enthusiasm, Anna spends a lot of her time working with kids and teaching them the foundations of a healthy lifestyle.

We were privileged to spend the afternoon with Anna while shooting pictures for the campaign. She’s down to earth, genuine and very passionate…

… not to mention a great sport for taking direction well and getting in and out of the pool multiple times!

So whether you’re a swim coach, like Anna, who needs energy to make it through a day of inspiring little ones or you’re just looking for a quick, healthy alternative to the standard lunch break drive-thru, How Do You Roll? is here for you.

If you’d like to share how How Do You Roll? has impacted your life, we’d love to hear your story!

A very special thanks to Tilted Chair, Nitro and our own Alicia Jones for their support for the photo shoot!

Statement Regarding Recent Salmonella Bareilly Outbreak

17 Apr

After hearing about the salmonella bareilly outbreak linked to spicy tuna, we have confirmed with our distributor that our tuna does not come from the same source. As integrity is one of our core company values, we take these situations very seriously and want to communicate that with our rollers. Below is a statement from our CEO, Yuen Yung, about the issue.

Statement:

How Do You Roll? strives to provide the highest quality products and will remove/discontinue the use of any product seen as a potential hazard to the public health.  Our distributor, Nishimoto has ensured that the company does not carry the Moon Marine USA Corp. brand of tuna which has been linked to the current salmonella bareilly outbreak.  Additionally, we do not use the Nakaochi Scrape AA or AAA type of tuna. Our most recent shipments of tuna can be traced to the Philippines and Indonesia.

We will continue to monitor the situation and our products to ensure that quality has not been compromised.
