How Do You Roll? Wins SushiQuest 2011 Award

23 Feb

Local Austin Blog SushiQuest announced today that How Do You Roll? has won the award for “Best Sushi That Might Not Even Qualify as Sushi”. The cheeky-titled award shows that you don’t have to be conventional to serve up great sushi. The blogger from SushiQuest went to 14 Austin sushi restaurants in 14 days, and chose his favorite from the restaurants he visited. Below is an excerpt about why HDYR? won the award.

“I really wanted to hate it, if for no other reason than it would make for an interesting write up. But I just couldn’t. This fledgling choose-your-own-sushi-ingredients chain may have dispensed with most of the ceremony and history that usually go along with the preparation and consumption of sushi, but for a fast-food restaurant, it’s actually pretty good. And with a new location soon to open in The Triangle, I’ll probably end up eating there occasionally in the future.”

While we are glad we didn’t disappoint, we think we proved that you don’t need fancy chefs or pompous ceremony to enjoy fine sushi. By stripping away the unnecessary, How Do You Roll? provides the best ingredients available for the most affordable price.
